Embedded Linux Board HIO-EMB-1200 Available for Purchase

HIO-EMB-1200 embedded Linux board is now available for purchase at our online store.

Since the announcement of HIO Project in 2014, we had successfully implemented this modular design on a few embedded ODM projects of HABEY USA and proved the concept of design to scale from prototypes to final products.  We now made the HIO-EMB-1200 i.MX6 core board available for purchase to the public together with some modules and development kits at http://hioproject.org/shop/.

Available modules support Gigabit Ethernet port, parallel camera interface, MIPI CSI,  MIPI DSI,  24 bit TTL parallel and LVDS displays, USB 2.0 ports, touch panel interfaces, multiple GPIO, SPI, 1x SDIO, 2x CAN, 1x RS-485, up to 4x RS-232, SATA 3 Gb/s port, mSATA, 1x mini-PCIe, SIM socket for cellular radios, and a 26-pin Raspberry Pi compatible low-level peripheral port.  WiFi, Bluetooth and 802.3af Power Over Ethernet (POE) modules are also available.  Development kits include a 3.5″ in-wall Android panel PC barebone, Starter kit with basic Ethernet, audio and camera interfaces, POE kit with Power-over-Ethernet module and a 10.1″ panel PC with Yocto Project embedded Linux loaded.

“Makers and developers can start their prototypes and application software rapidly by using the core-board (HIO-EMC-1200) and pairing with one or more modules.  They can also develop their own modules to meet specific application or power requirements.” said Bin Lin, founder of the HIO Project.  “By designing with this modular core-board, which incorporates essential circuitry and most of the high frequency components, including the audio codec and Ethernet PHY on board, developers can focus on what they are good at and significantly reduce the challenges, time and investments on building custom boards, modules or carrier boards for their final products.  They can also take the advantage of Freescale’s power-efficient i.MX6 processors, long life cycle support and our modular embedded Linux support with Yocto Project”

The Yocto embedded Linux images, support documents and source codes are also available at our wiki http://wiki.hioproject.org/ and GitHub https://github.com/HIO-Project.
